ALFORD G. HENDRICK

ALFORD G. HENDRICK, farmer, Franklin, Heard County, Georgia, son of James A. and Martha (Crosby) Hendrick, was born in Heard County July 24, 1855. He grew to manhood on the farm and was educated at the near-by country schools, and the academy in Franklin. At the age of nineteen he engaged in mercantile business and continued in it four years.

At that time he was married to Miss Josie L., daughter of Jephtha H. and Emily B. (Heflin) Daniel. Since his marriage he has been engaged in farming and stock-raising, in which his success has been equal to his most sanguine expectations. He is fully abreast of the movements of the times, and to the development of the county's resources. He also takes a very active interest in politics.

Mr. and Mrs. Hendrick have had six children born to them: Mary H., Hugh H., Emma S., Josie L., Ruth, and Grace.
